Since its establishment in 1834 by Johann Friedrich Baptist Messmer, numerous august guests have graced the halls of Maison Messmer. From historically significant visits by former princes, kings and emperors to highly publicised stays by more contemporary stars such as Til Schweiger and Formula 1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton.

This almost 300-year-old hall, which has kept its original design while being elaborately restored, combines imperial splendour with advanced technology and polished service.

LOCATION & DIRECTIONS

ARRIVAL BY CAR - VIA TUNNEL

Take the “Baden-Baden” exit from the A 5, then follow the B 500 heading for Baden-Baden. Take the second exit from the roundabout next to the Gewerbepark Cité business park and continue to follow the B 500 for a further 3.7 km. Then use one of the two right-hand lanes and bear right at the traffic lights, following the signs for Freudenstadt/Centrum. Enter the tunnel and continue for 2.5 km before taking the exit for Lichtentaler Straße. On leaving the tunnel, turn left and take the third exit from the roundabout. Now follow the road for 200 m and turn off into Friedrichstraße after the bridge and city museum. Maison Messmer is at the end of the street.

ARRIVAL BY CAR - VIA UNDERGROUND CAR PARK

Take the “Baden-Baden” exit from the A 5, then follow the B 500 heading for Baden-Baden. Take the second exit from the roundabout next to the Gewerbepark Cité business park and continue to follow the B 500 for a further 3.7 km. Then use one of the two left-hand lanes and bear left at the traffic lights, following the signs for Centrum/Gaggenau/Ebersteinburg. Continue past the Festspielhaus, following Lange Straße (which then becomes Kaiserallee) for 1.1 km until you see signs for the “Parkhaus am Kurhaus” public car park and Maison Messmer. Take a ticket and drive into the car park, following the “Maison Messmer” signs which will lead you to the section of the car park beneath the hotel. Park your car there, then simply take the lift straight to the lobby.

ARRIVAL BY TRAIN

Baden-Baden has a long-distance railway station which offers a convenient and climate-neutral means of accessing the spa town from all directions. From the station, take bus route 201 or 216 to the Leopoldsplatz stop. Get off there and turn right at the fountain, continuing down the road for about 300 m until you reach Maison Messmer opposite the theatre.
